How did I pick “Rue Plumet” as the title for my blog? It’s from a line in Les Miserables, my favorite musical. In the second act there is a scene where Jean Valjean is in the sewers after the barricade falls. He is confronted by Javert, who wants to arrest him on the spot. Valjean wants to take Marius to a doctor first and then turn himself in, saying:
“If I come out of this alive, you’ll find me at number fifty-five Rue Plumet.”
A lot of people know I love Les Miserables, and I thought it would be cool if people could “find me” at the same place Javert could find Valjean. As you may have already guessed, the randomly displayed quotes that appear just above the images at the top of my blog pages all come from Les Miserables.
